Formnext 2023 is just around the corner. This year’s trade show promises to offer a more diverse program than ever before, with over 840 exhibitors and more than 30,000 visitors. The event is running from the 7th-10th November and will transform Frankfurt into an international hub for Additive Manufacturing.

At this year’s Formnext event, a new Service Provider Marketplace will be introduced, alongside significant expansions to established events. Attendees spanning various application industries can explore a comprehensive range of technologies across the entire production process chain. Furthermore, Formnext features cutting-edge industrial 3D printers, application-specific materials, automation solutions, software supporting design and production, and post-processing and quality control technologies. Discover all you need for your additive manufacturing needs under one roof.

The event organizer, Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH, anticipates that the new Service Provider Market Place will stand out as a key highlight in this year’s program. In collaboration with Daimler Truck & Buses, this showcase will illustrate the successful application of Additive Manufacturing and the integral role service providers play in the process.

Exploring Additive Manufacturing at Formnext: Showcasing Innovations, Insights, and Standards

The VDMA’s Additive Manufacturing Working Group, the honorary sponsor of Formnext, is set to host a showcase featuring practical applications of Additive Manufacturing (AM) within the mechanical engineering sector. This exhibit will feature member companies, totaling approximately 200, that specialize in producing additively manufactured components known for introducing novel functionalities, enhancing sustainability, and addressing supply chain challenges.

For those interested in entering the AM industry, valuable insights and guidance can be found at the well-established Discover3Dprinting seminars. These seminars, held in collaboration with ACAM, will take place daily throughout the exhibition, offering valuable resources for newcomers.

The BE-AM showcase, using real-world applications, will illustrate the latest advancements in the growing field of AM within the construction industry. Concurrently, the BE-AM Symposium on November 8 will delve into the background and future developments within the sector.

The day before the exhibition kicks off, the ASTM Standards Forum, in collaboration with USCS, ASTM, ISO, and America Makes, will convene global experts and industry leaders in Additive Manufacturing (AM). This forum will provide a platform for in-depth discussions on the crucial subject of AM standards.

Focusing on the future: start-ups and career opportunities

The Formnext Start-up Challenge returns for its ninth edition this year, shining a spotlight on innovative and viable business concepts. On November 7th, exhibitors from the Start-up Area will deliver short pitches during the Pitchnext event to showcase their innovative offerings. Additionally, emerging startups will have a platform to present their ventures at the Young Innovators booth, hosted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).

On November 9th, Formnext hosts Career Day, a valuable event for job seekers looking to explore opportunities within the Additive Manufacturing (AM) industry. Attendees can engage with career advisors, access professional application photo services, and stay informed about the latest job openings in the AM sector. Job vacancies can be found on the Formnext Job Wall, located within the Career Area, and on AM Jobs, a newly launched online portal. Moreover, this exhibition offers attendees the unique opportunity to connect with potential employers through face-to-face discussions.

Formnext streAM

At this year’s Formnext, a valuable digital platform is back in action. Attendees can explore exhibitor products, engage with companies, and schedule meetings, either in-person or online, via Formnext streAM. This platform will remain accessible throughout November, offering a unique opportunity to connect before and after the physical event. A notable feature of Formnext streAM is Formnext.TV, allowing viewers to follow on-stage events both live and on-demand.
