Elmec 3D, 3d printed running shoes
Elmec’s elastomer printed running shoes revolutionize the footwear industry with multi jet fusion technology
Description
Elmec 3D - the division of the Elmec Group that deals with additive manufacturing shaked the footwear industry by prototyping elastomer 3d printed running shoes in 2020. They are created from powder, the BASF's TPU, which is skin contact certified. The AMT vapour smoothing post-processing polishes and seals the surface, making it much less prone to bacterial proliferation. These sustainable shoes can be customized and printed on demand. And in comparison with a traditional shoe that is made of several parts, HP’s Multi Jet Fusion technology production has made it possible to create a single piece by adding material, layer by layer. Here 3d printing allows for the creation of fashion accessories with geometries that would otherwise be impossible: each piece is an experiment, with its own shape and design. Elmec's 3D mission is to enable the market for additive manufacturing. For this reason, they are suggesting new possibilities to planners and designers in traditionally non-additive-oriented sectors.
